Sanur's Contribution to Social, Cultural and Environmental Sustainability
Sanur, September 2013 - Sanur Village Festival (SVF) VIII is set to be held from 24-28 September 2013 at Maisonette Inna Grand Bali Beach Hotel. This annual event promises usual fun and cultural programs as well as introducing new activities among them Koi fish competition, fun run, and tree planting as part of environmental acts done within Sanur area.
The theme 'Segara Giri' for Sanur Village Festival VIII is truly relevant to the current environmental development. The chairman of Yayasan Pembangunan Sanur (YPS) Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta Putra mentioned that rehabilitating rare trees and mangrove are part of environmental efforts consistently carried out starting the very first SVF back in 2005. According to Gusde, Bali as a world tourism destination must focus on environmental sustainability and carry out proper development policies in line with environment conservation. YPS as government's partner in developing tourism in Sanur aims to maintain balance and harmony by minimizing environmental damage.
