June 06, 2011
Denpasar, adisBali.com - Discussion themed "Irony on the Paradise Island : environment telescoped" organized by the Indonesian Forum for Environment (WALHI) in the Wantilan ( Hall ) of the DPRD Bali, Denpasar, on Monday, June 6th, 2011.
In the discussion was discussed about the concept of tourism in Bali is now beginning to shift from "tourism for Bali" to "Bali for tourism". Bali island is very special, it has a wealth of nature, cultures, customs and traditions that have been recognized by the world. Bali island has a distinctive and unique cultures, beautiful arts and her passion for the environment. But now tourism has begun to change the order of the Balinese, as evidenced by changes in economic structure in Bali, Balinese cultural shifts, and the excessive exploitation of nature that ultimately ruin the natural beauty of Bali island.
Speakers involved in these discussions are Mr. Bagus Sudibya (Entrepreneur tourism), Made Kembang Hartawan, I Ketut Kariyasa Adnyana (Member of DPRD Bali) and Agung Alit (Secretary-General of Forum Fair Trade Indonesia) jointly together to invite the community who attended the discussion to actively contribute in protecting and maintaining the natural preservation.
Unfortunately the discussion was attended by only a small part of society, as evidence of the lack of interest of the community to maintain and preserve our environment.
"We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls." ( Mother Theresa )
